Frequently asked questions
What firms and businesses usually want to know before handing work over — how we work, who stays responsible, and how engagements are structured.

How we work with firms
What is legal process outsourcing?
Legal process outsourcing means handing defined, process-driven parts of a matter to experienced professionals outside your firm, so your fee earners spend their time on the work that needs their judgement. In practice that covers conveyancing support, legal research, document review, contract support and case and file administration. The firm keeps the client relationship, the supervision and the decisions throughout.
Do you compete with our firm or approach our clients?
No. We are non-competing by design: we support firms rather than take on their clients' work ourselves. You remain in control of your business and your client relationships, and our role is the professional support behind them. If you want that recorded in the engagement documentation, ask us and we will put it in writing.
Do we have to change our software or processes?
No. Your case management system, ledgers and templates stay as they are. We learn how your firm already works and adapt to it, rather than asking you to move to tools of ours. Where we need access to your systems, that access is scoped to what the work actually requires.
Who stays responsible for the work?
Your firm does. Outsourcing changes who performs a task; it does not change who is answerable for it. Work comes back to you checked, but as a draft for your review rather than a finished product ready to leave the firm. The named fee earner or supervising partner remains the person whose judgement the client and the file rely on, and firms should work through their own supervisory and regulatory obligations before agreeing what is in scope.
How do engagements start?
With a short conversation about your workload, your software, your turnaround expectations and where the pressure actually sits. From there we agree what is in scope, assign professionals with the right legal or accounting experience, and confirm who you deal with day to day. Most firms find it works best to start with one clearly defined area and expand once the process has proven itself.
People and quality
Who actually does the work?
Experienced, UK-qualified legal professionals on the legal side, and chartered and part-qualified accountants on the finance side. The people supervising the numbers are qualified accountants rather than data-entry staff, and the people handling legal work understand how a law firm actually runs.
How is quality checked?
Work passes an internal quality check before it reaches your team, so your review time stays short. You also get a named account manager who knows your processes and systems and owns both the relationship and the escalation path if something needs to be raised.
How is confidentiality handled?
Business, financial, legal and client information is treated as confidential at every stage, and people are given access only to the files and systems their work requires. Beyond the contractual commitment, it is reasonable to ask any provider how access is granted and reviewed, where information is held, and what happens to it when an engagement ends — and we are happy to answer all three specifically.
What happens to our data when an engagement ends?
Access is removed and we agree in advance what happens to any information held. Because data protection obligations depend on the exact nature of the data and the engagement, this is something to settle in the engagement documentation before any personal data changes hands, rather than afterwards.
Scope and commercials
What kinds of work do you take on?
On the legal side: conveyancing support, legal research, document review, contract support, due diligence, litigation and compliance assistance, and paralegal, case and file management. On the finance side: bookkeeping, reconciliation and management accounts, payroll processing and compliance reporting, accounts payable and receivable, expense administration, and back-office and virtual team support.
What should stay in-house?
Anything that depends on professional judgement about a specific client's matter — advising the client, decisions that affect the outcome, and any point where your firm's name goes behind a piece of work. For businesses outsourcing bookkeeping, the same applies to decisions about cash flow, pricing and hiring, and to owning the relationship with your accountants and auditors. Outside support should prepare the ground for those judgements, not make them.
How are engagements priced and structured?
Engagements run monthly, weekly or project-based, and flex as your workload changes. Because the right structure depends on the volume and type of work, we quote against your actual requirements rather than publishing a rate card. Tell us what you are dealing with and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.
Which firms and businesses do you work with?
Law firms, accounting practices and owner-managed businesses that need experienced support without the overhead of hiring. We work with clients worldwide, and our legal support is delivered by UK-qualified professionals.
